How can you travel to FMTC Safety during Corona?

Limited travel

Currently, there are restrictions with travel worldwide to contain COVID-19, but it is certainly possible to travel (internationally) when this is necessary for your work and you don’t feel sick or have COVID-19 symptoms. In this article you will find the most important information per country to take into account.

Traveling to the Netherlands

It is possible to travel to the Netherlands in various ways. You can enter the Netherlands with your own transport, but also by plane or public transport. There are daily sufficient flights to and from Schiphol Amsterdam Airport. From here you are within 5 minutes of our training center, FMTC Safety Schiphol Amsterdam.

Rotterdam Airport currently has little to no air traffic and at Eindhoven Airport only Ryanair and Wizzair fly limited routes. Are you flying via Schiphol Amsterdam Airport? Keep an eye on this page for the latest news about flights at Schiphol.

Of course you can also travel in other ways. You do have to take the following measures into account during your travel & stay to and in The Netherlands:

1. A mandatory health certificate when flying from a high-risk area. You will receive this from your airline, and you must bring it to the Netherlands.
2. An EU entry ban applies to all unnecessary travel of persons from third countries to Europe (including all EU Member States, Schengen countries and the UK) until 15 June 2020.

–           An exception applies for, inter alia: Persons working in the transport of goods and other transport personnel, insofar as this is necessary, this includes container ships, bulk ships (eg ore or coal), tankers (fuels and chemicals), fisheries, persons working in the energy sector; oil and gas platforms and wind farms as well as offshore companies that provide services to this sector, and flight crew. But only under certain circumstances you can apply for a short stay visa, check the website for short stay visas for the requirements and conditions.

3. From 1 June 2020, it is mandatory to wear a face mask in public transport and on KLM flights.

In addition, you must always adhere to the applicable RIVM / government measures in The Netherlands. Read the measures in the Netherlands here.

Traveling to France

The French government has relaxed some measures to reduce the risk of spreading the coronavirus (COVID-19) as of May 11. There is limited public transport and air traffic.

You do have to take the following measures into account:

1. Border controls; Travelers traveling to or through France must complete the ‘Attestation de déplacement international dérogatoire’ form (International Travel Certificate). They must state the reason for the trip, which must also be supported by supporting documents. You must enter these statements again per trip or per journey. Download the form here.
2. An EU entry ban applies to all unnecessary travel of persons from third countries to Europe (including all EU Member States, Schengen countries and the UK) until 15 June 2020.

Traveling in and to the United states

The government in United States has also taken measures to slow the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) into the United States. However, it is possible to travel when this is necessary, for example for your work. Various measures apply per state; check the measures taken per state.

You can travel within the United States, but here too it is preferred that this only happens if necessary. All types of transport are possible within United States, see for yourself what is best for you per situation. Take into account the protection of yourself and others.

Are you traveling to United States from abroad? Then you have to take into account the following:

Foreigners who have visited the areas listed below in the past 14 days should not enter America:

– China
– Iran
– EU area / Schengen area
– United Kingdom
– Ireland

American citizens, lawful permanent residents, and their families who have been in one of the countries listed above in the past 14 days will be allowed to enter the United States but will be redirected to one of 13 airports. If you are returning from one of these countries, you should stay home and monitor your health. More information is available on the Travelers Returning from International Travel webpage.

Kindly note, sometimes you have to pass other country’s on your way. Be aware of the measurements when you will entering another country. There are a lot of border controls. In most cases a letter of your employer will help you to cross the borders.
